Artistic Directors Luke Benson and Kieran Tudor were both chosen to assist Alex Brownsell at the Thomas Tait London Fashion Week Show. Thomas Tait’s latest collection showcased felted wool jackets and satin coats in bright primary colours. The bold make-up echoed the sci-fi clothing so the hair was slick to counteract the colour. Here Luke talks us through the look for the show.
Luke says: “The brief was ‘wet to dry – Mexican wrestler’. Slick and gelled flat to the head running into dry, natural texture from below the occipital bone. The hair was first put into a deep side parting, parallel to the middle of the left eye and then dampened down with water and dried flat using a net around the head. Once the hair was flat, gel was combed on to give a sleek and shiny finish without any comb marks. The hair below the occiptial bone was then spritzed with a texture spray and diffused to create a ‘crunchy, airy’ texture. We then pinned the hair set behind the ear to create a square finish.”
